 EXPLORE THE JUNGLES OF AFRICA

DAY 1:    KAMPALA – KIBALE NATIONAL PARK(4-5 hours drive)
After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park with lunch enroute. Kibale National Park is one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. It is home tour closest relative – the endangered Chimpanzee. The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species that include the threatened Red Colobus monkey, l’hoesti monkey Blue monkey, Grey Cheeked, Velvet and the Black / White Colobus monkeys. Dinner and over night stay at Ndali Lodge (Up market)

DAY 2:    KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

After early breakfast, report at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzee in the forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are over 90% but not a guarantee. Kibale National Park is one of the beautiful and stunning forests in the Uganda. This is home of our closest living relatives the endangered Chimpanzee, the threatened Red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species including the Black and white colobus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey and Bush babies and Pottos.

An afternoon visit to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and guided walk around the Magombe Swamp provides you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna.

DAY 3:   KIBALE NATIONAL PARK – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK (2-3 hours drive)
Late breakfast then drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. You will drive along the Rwenzori ranges and Savanna grasslands. Queen Elizabeth National park boasts of a variety of big game like; lions, elephants, buffaloes, Hyenas, Hippos, bushbucks, the comical warthogs and rare / elusive leopards.

Reach in time for an afternoon launch cruise on Kazinga Channel. It is a waterway that is filled with schools of hippos and elephants, buffalos which can be seen at the banks. There is also a rich variety of birds on the channel.

Later check in at the executive Mweya Safari Lodge that is set on the peninsular over looking Lake Edward and the lush Kazinga Channel that joins Lakes Edward and George. Dinner and over night stay.

DAY 4:   QUEEN ELIZABETH – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK (2-4 hours drive)
Rise very early for a morning game drive to catch-up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. You will most likely meet grazing Hippos, Elephants, and Lions, spotted Hyenas, bush buck, water buck, stripped jackal, comical warthogs and the elusive leopard.

Proceed to Bwindi with packed lunch enroute. Drive along the deep and wide dry craters that are occupied by savanna grasses and acacia. The drive takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment and the (southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park) Ishasha sector. The journey takes about 4 hours but driving through interesting features. Arrive Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening. This park is home of the rare mountain gorillas. Apart from gorillas, there are a wide variety of primates to see including the blue and red tailed monkeys. The forest itself is lush and green and there are streams running through it.

 At Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, will be accommodated   private lodge at the Buhoma lodge/ Kitandara lodge/ Mantana Egagi Lodge or Community Rest Camp- . All these settings provide an authentic African feel to your adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. All enjoy views of gallery of Bwindi forest. All the accommodation is positioned enjoying the vantage afforded by steep hilly slopes that are synonymous to Bwindi. Good cuisine is served  before retiring for the evening.

 DAY 5: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast set off early with your guide to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous track. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe, watching the gorillas go about their activities before returning to the lodge exhilarated to relive the encounter with friends over a drink. Enjoy your dinner and spend the night.

DAY 6: BWINDI NATIONAL PARK – KINIGI (5-6 hours drive)
Rise early and transfer to Kinigi – Rwanda. While enroute, stop over at Kanaba Gap where you will view the spectacular Virunga volcanoes and eye-catching terraced hills. [Approximate driving time: 5 hours]. Arrive Kinigi in the evening and check in at either Gorilla Nest Hotel/Virunga lodge /Muhabura Hotel.

DAY 7:      KINIGI - PARC DES VOLCANS
After an early breakfast drive to Parc National Des Volcans (translated: Volcanoes National Park) and then to Kinigi park headquarters from where you will take on Gorilla tracking or Golden monkey tracking. Lunch break then have the afternoon at leisure. Dinner & overnight either Gorilla Nest Hotel.

DAY 8:      KINIGI VIA RUHENGERI – KIGALI (3 hours drive)
After an early breakfast drive south to Kigali. The journey south goes through beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape. Take a ride around the city and also visit the markets, the handicraft shops and the genocide sites before checking in for dinner and over night stay either at Mill Collines.
DAY 9: KIGALI – KABALE
Transfer back to Uganda and then head to Kabale for dinner and over night stay at Bunyonyi Island Resort , Bushara Island Camp. Have the evening at leisure

DAY 10: KABALE (LAKE BUNYONYI) – KAMPALA (5-6 hours drive)

After breakfast, take on a morning boat ride to some of the islands on the lake Bunyonyi. Lunch break then return to Kampala. Along the way you will be able to see banana plantations, Ankole long-horned cattle. Stop over at the Mpambire local drum makers or at any crafts display centre for souvenirs before proceeding to Kampala.
