Kibale is famous for its enormous variety of primates and its families of habituated chimpanzees. With lush tropical rain forest and fascinating diversity of animals, Kibale National park is one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. Kibale forst is certainly worth protecting as it is home to the largest number (in Uganda) of chimpanzees, as well as the THREATENED red colobus monkey and the rare I’Hoesti monkey. The forest has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species including the black and white colobus, blue monkey and grey – cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies and pottos. The park also hosts over 325 species of birds including the yellow spotted nicator, yellow rumped tinkerbird, little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the African pitta, the crowned eagle and the black bee – eater. 2 days tour to Kibale will be an eye opener to variety of primates including chimpanzees that are fount this park
Morning between 7.00am m you will picked from Entebbe hotel in Kampala and proceed to Fort Portal. Will stop for lunch on the way on in Fort Portal Town. The drive follows the lush green countryside on Mityana-Mubende road to Fort Portal stopping at some tea plantations and open swamp valleys.
After lunch will be driven to KAFRED and Eco tourism site Bigodi swamp to take natural walk exploring bird watching and other primate viewing. Check in at Primate lodge. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, visit the park offices to Kibale Forest National Park famous for chimpanzee tracking. With local guides track chimps in their natural Forest in the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains (the famed mist shrouded “Mountains of the Moon”) Kibale Forest is rich in animal life, including an astonishing 12 species of primates including chimps in this park have been recorded, the much localized red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Tracking the chimpanzees our ‘cousins’ is a very interesting experience. The way they feed, climb trees, respond to humans, caring for their young ones leaves an imaginative dream to tell.
After depart at your leisure to return to Kampala. The drive is about 4- 5 hours. Stopover on your way could be on forests and swamps points and other interesting points as you guide will be helping you. You will be dropped at your hotel or residence in Kampala. END OF TOUR.
