This is a 3 days chimpanzee tracking tour in Uganda at Kibale Forest national park in Western part of the country. The park is located near Fort Portal a Newly created city in Western Uganda. Kibale is home of 13 primate species including chimpanzees. Will view many monkey variety species, baboons and many more.
The park is is known for many bird species and birders find this place very important birding area. Bigodi swamp is another important eco tourist site not to miss.
Here will do daytime or evening walking safaris where then will locate or get in contact with chimpanzee families and variety of monkey species including red colobus monkeys chattering and swinging through trees very old even 100 years plus and high up to 60 meters tall in height where will have a very wonderful extraordinary experience in a diversity of lifelong African tropical rainforest
Morning between 7.00am and 8.00am you will picked from your hotel or residence in Kampala and proceed to Fort Portal. Will stop for lunch on the way on in Fort Portakl Town. The drive follows the lush green countryside on Mityana-Mubende road to Fortportal stopping at some coffee holdings tea plantations and open swamp valleys. Check in at Primate Lodge or Ndali Lodge/Primate Lodge for luxury and upmarkt facilities or Stay in Fort portal Middle facilities of Ataco Lodge, Rwenzori Travellers Inn, Mountains of the moon or Fort Motel. For Budget can stay at Toro Resort or Crater Valley Lodge all a well refurbished facilities in the countryside establishment. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, with picnic lunch drive to Kibale Forest National Park famous for chimpanzee tracking. With local guides track chimps in their natural Forest in the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains (the famed mist shrouded “Mountains of the Moon”) Kibale Forest is rich in animal life, including an astonishing 12 species of primates including chimps in this park have been recorded, the much localized red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Tracking the chimpanzees our ‘cousins’ is a very interesting experience. The way they feed, climb trees, respond to humans, caring for their young ones leaves an imaginative dream to tell.
After picnic lunch/ lunch will be driven to KAFRED and Eco tourism site Bigodi swamp to take natural walk exploring bird watching and other primate viewing. Enjoy unique view of crater lakes and other volcanic features. Dinner and overnight will bet at your chosen facility.
After breakfast/lunch depart at your leisure to return to Kampala. The drive is not long one about 5- 6 hours. Stopover on your way could be on forests and swamps points and other interesting points as you guide will be helping you. You will be dropped at your hotel or residence in Kampala.
